Jacobson Engineering Services is an electrical engineering consulting company specializing in wireless systems, electrical interference, grounding, and protection of telecommunication systems. The principal of Jacobson Engineering Services is Kevin Jacobson, M.Sc., P.Eng., a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta, and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
Kevin Jacobson has worked in engineering and marketing departments in a number of different companies including TELUS Communications, STENTOR Resource Centre Inc., Nortel Technologies, Manitoba Telecom Services, and Manitoba Hydro.
His main area of expertise is telecommunications, but he is familiar with many aspects of power systems as well. He has been involved with research and development, troubleshooting, design, damage investigations, safety investigations, standards and training over a fifteen year career. This diverse background has developed strong abilities in both theoretical work and real-world practical solutions.
Education: Master of Science degree from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Science degree (with distinction) from the University of Manitoba. Both of these are in Electrical Engineering. He has won numerous awards during his academic career: Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Scholarships, informatics circle of research excellence (iCORE), Manulife Financial/Canadian Council of Professional Engineers Scholarship, Walter H. Johns Scholarship, TRLabs scholarship and fellowship.
He is currently performing research in advanced wireless systems under contract at TRLabs, and is working toward a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Alberta.
Jacobson Engineering Services is committed to the health and safety of its employees, visitors, contractors, subcontractors, clients and the public. We are a member of the Alberta Association for Safety Partnerships (AASP), and have a complete Health and Safety Management System compliant with Alberta's Occupational Health and Safety Code. Jacobson Engineering Services is currently working toward achieving a Certificate of Recognition (SECOR) from Alberta Employment and Immigration, and we participate in the WCB's Partners in Injury Reduction program.
